In this post, I will be doing the same thing I did in the posts regarding Fanduel. This is for newbies so you will get a better understanding of the site and how it works. This is a full review on draft kings. If you haven’t made you an account yet. I will leave a link below where you can sign up for free.
What Is Draft Kings?
Draft Kings is another great fantasy playing platform. Unlike fanduel, you are offered more sports and game modes on here. That’s one of the main reason people choose it over FD. But the layout is a bit crowded and if you are new to the site it can be a bit overwhelming. It’s likening in Vegas for the first time. A lot of shiny lights all over the place. You get used to it after a while, though. Maybe I still get lost and confused sometimes.
What Are The Game Modes?
On draftkings, there are plenty of game modes to play. Some are similar to FD. The contests are.
- Featured or Promotions
- Head To Head – you can view here
- Tournaments – you can view here
- Leagues – you can view here
- 50/50s & Double Ups – you can view here
- Multipliers – you can view here
- Satellites & Qualifiers – you can view here
I will go over each of these in later posts and explain how they work.
What Sports Can You Play On Draftkings?
On FD you are only limited to 4 sports you can play. On DK you are offered over 12. Those are. The two that they don’t have on this image are CBB and CFB.
How Can You Enter Contest On Draftkings?
You can enter with cash and win cash that’s a given. I’m sure you knew that by now, though. But unlike fanduel, there are only two ways you can play games. Those two being.
There are no points you can play cash games with. They do offer a big payout to the winner of a large pool free game, though. You can win cash or trips to games and other nice places. You can use tickets on dk as well.
How Old Must You Be To Play Draftkings?
Well unlike FD it’s a bit harder to cheat the system on DK. They require a lot more information and will ban your account asap. If they detect any fraudulent activity. 18 or older only don’t play around with it. Because you will wake up to an ugly email.
As far as cash games go you must be 18 to enter and win/withdraw. For free games, I think you could do if your underage. But only free games. If you have an older person who is legal then you can get them to withdraw and games you won with cash. But it’s too much of a hassle and I wouldn’t recommend doing it.
What’s So Good About Draft Kings?
DraftKings offer a lot more than fanduel as you can see. You are not limited to just four game types and this should be suitable for anyone who is interested in fantasy sports. Hands down draftkings have played the little brother to FD for so long. But if they could neaten up their website and make it more user-friendly. They could be considered as the top fantasy site on the market.
They offer more when you win. You can win tickets to games. But you can also win things like trips to places. I have seen one time where they were offering a trip to the playboy mansion for this one contest. It’s a lot on there and you will see that once you sign up.
You don’t win points and can play them for cash prizes like on FD. But you can accumulate points over time. You do so by playing games and winning them on DK. You can use the points and cash in on some exclusive DK gear. It’s called the VIP store. You will see it on the drop down tab once you create an account. You can buy the items via PayPal also but that’s the noob way. Do it the boss way.
There are tons of payouts and you should try to get a piece of each. Watch out for the sharks, though. You can’t really avoid them completely. But you can make it to where you don’t have to see them as much.
Can You Create Contest On Draftkings?
Yes, you can. In fact, you’re not just limited to head to head games or playing with friends. You can make it to where a completely random or randoms can join your contest. You are in control of how many people you want to join and how many times a person can play you in a Head to Head.
That’s good let me tell you how. Let’s say you are on FD and you make 20 head to head games for $1 and this Shark sees you goes and looks up your profile and sees that you aren’t all that good at FD yet. Or that you came to the site. So the get the notion that you are easy money and they join all 20 of your head to head games. See now you have to face the extremely experienced fantasy player 20 times in one day.
On DK you can control that and set it to where how many times a single person can play against you in a single contest. But FD and DK have made updates and made it easier to find out who the sharks are and who the newbies are.
The have also made it to where you can pretty much play against someone or a group of people matching your skill level to a certain extent. but you’ll have guys go and make new accounts and all that it’s hectic but you will learn how to function after a while.
As for the leagues, you can create them also. You can make it as low as 3 people or as high as 100 people. You also have the ability to make this public or private. This is really fun it gives you more control of what’s going on and in a sense who’s joining your games.
You also have the ability to set the prize structure. Accordingly to however many people you have in your contest. Head to Head is whoever wins is the winner and whoever loses is the loser. Short and sweet and straight to the point.
That is the basics of Draftkings. I will make more posts further on down the road on answer any possible question you could have about DK. But if I don’t. Feel free to ask me about anything related to DK and I will be more than happy to assist you. It’s a great platform to play on and should defiantly be in your arsenal if you are a fantasy sports player.
I touched on the basics of what you need to know if you are a newbie. If you haven’t created an account already. You should do so today.
