Fanduel and Draftkings Merge

So as many of you may know. I am a die hard DFS player. That stands for daily fantasy sports for those of you who aren’t in the know. But I have recently stumbled upon some very exciting news. Yes, the title is true or at least being discussed by the two fantasy sports powerhouses. Being Fanduel and Draftkings.

Though this is great information. Idk how realistic or soon we would see this come into effect. Like who’s site will have more of this and that on the new combined site? Will they offer the same sports? Draftkings has more playable fantasy sports than Fanduel does. Then there is Fanduel’s salary cap. Which is higher than Draftkings. It’s just so much they have to go over and come to an agreement on.

We literally probably won’t see this until a year or two. Even with that, it might just be a beta. But with all that being said. It would easily be the most popular DFS site on the market. Which will bring in tons of customers and tons of revenue for both companies and players. It will be a sight to see indeed.

I wonder if they will bring back chat rooms. Nothing like talking a little smack to a guy who faded Russell Westbrook. I also wonder will it be more game modes added?

I get an adrenaline rush just thinking about it. I currently play on both sites full time and have been basically since they came out. I pretty much know them inside out. To see both of them combine. For me will be equivalent to seeing my child’s first steps.  I just hope that it doesn’t end up being a dud and allows a DFS site like Yahoo or DraftShot come into power in the DFS world. But I’m sure they won’t let that happen.

Candy Store

Candy Store

I’m like a kid in a candy store right now. Bare with me while I fanboy over this. Like what if they have bigger payouts? Being that both sites will be combining their money. It only makes sense to have bigger payouts right? Just imagine a 3 million or 5 million dollar payout. The lottery would have some major competition. Not that they can’t match that. But it would be a lot more millionaires around.

I can’t really think of any other game mode that they can introduce that will be realistic and fun right now. But I’m sure they would come up with something and everyone would love it. But then there’s this. You have some people who play Fanduel solely cause they hate Draftkings and vice versa with Draftkings over Fanduel. What will those people do? Or will they suck it up and hop on? If the are smart and actually trying to make money they would. I mean I don’t see why not.

How do you feel about this? Do you think it would be a good business move or a bust? Leave your comments below.

    Hello Ted,

To me, sports industry like most other industries, bear a huge risks in such major occurrence like joining forces. I see you have few unanswered questions which are uncertain. Whether there will be competitive entertainment being more game modes being introduced. I can see how die hard and passionate you are on your interest by the way which is great. Salute!

I think fanduel and draftkings both have a unique position in the fantasy sports market. I’m not so sure that meshing the two would be the best idea for the industry. I would compare it to McDonalds and Burgerking. They are both fast-food restaurants but they are different and pertain to different people. In the same way, fanduel and draftkings are both fantasy sports platforms but they are different and pertain to different people. You didn’t really give any evidence on why you think this is a good idea. Maybe if you gave some facts it would help me out, but as of right now I disagree with you.

I didn’t give any reason on why this is a good idea? I don’t think you read the post bro. I made plenty of reasons why this would be a good idea.
