Hey there I was playing I think Battlefield 1 with some friends of mine. One of them said Ted have you heard of the new game mode on Fanduel? My guy friends and I are usually pretty sarcastic to one another. We’ve been friends long enough to do that so its cool we know where to take it and where not to. So I most likely said something along those lines as a response.
But then he was like no dude for real and it seems very easy. It’s called single game mode. I was like hold on man you mean to tell me you picking all players from 1 game as in 2 teams playing but all of your picks are coming from those, two teams?
He was like absolutely. I didn’t believe it not one second. Just playing Fanduel for as long as I have that’s unheard of.
Eventually, I did go and check to see and there it was right there Single Game Mode under the NBA tab. The contest wasn’t very big at all. Except for the tournaments and even they weren’t as big as you’d traditionally see.
I decided to take $10 and hop in this thing to see what it’s shaking with. This contest was a few days ago I only played once. I mean its ok but not really something I can see myself really getting into just off one game but who knows this could bring me in another 5K.

Is Fanduel Single Game Mode A Fun Mode To Play
Is Single Game Mode Just For NBA or Will It Be Available For All Sports
Not really sure on that either. I’m not even sure its a legitimate game mode on Fanduel right now. Like I saw it up for like two nights. But I haven’t seen it lately and I have seen it at all for the other sports on Fanduel. Maybe they’re tweaking it and making it accessible for all sports across the platform or maybe it’s just an NBA limited time only thing. Who knows only time will tell. If I find something out I will be sure to let it be known on here.
What Are All The Entry Types You Can Play When Playing Single Game Mode
Well when I was on there I saw the following
Pretty much the same rundown just a lot smaller entries and payouts. Which is expected with a new game mode. DFS players have to get their feet wet too ya know and this will also give Fanduel some key insight on what they need to keep and let go. But if they bring it back and decide to leave it up there all those numbers will increase substantially especially once the DFS Sharks got as wif of “Fresh Meat” so to speak.
How To Pick Your Players For Single Game Mode On Fanduel
This is very simple if you plan on cashing consistently once or if this game mode becomes available permanently. You want to choose a guy that stuffs the stat sheet for your MVP position and if you get this position right your night in the green shouldn’t be in danger too much.
Guys who stuff the stat sheet Draymond Green, Russell Westbrook, Lebron James, Ben Simmions, and more guys like that just seem to do a little bit of everything. That’s what you want with the +1.5 extra. Now hence all of may not any of these guys play on the same night. Remember its only two teams. So whoever you get dealt that night go for the best stat sheet stuffer from each team. Like seriously whoever you feel is the best or will give you the best stat stuff that night throw him in that MVP slot and if you really like the other guy find a place to add him as well.
Now if both of these guys are studs your salary is quite low right about now and you still have 3 players left to pick. For this, you really just want to make sure whoever you have in your line is actually going to get in the game and play at least 15+ mins. That’s a dive bomb method and if it works you win period. Very risky though would only do in tournaments or a head to head.
Now a more conservative way would be to have one stud in your line(Preferably At The MVP Position) and try to evenly balance out the rest with role players and guys you don’t have to squint your eyes and scratch your head about when they get in the game they produce what you need them to and hopefully more and that’s what you want. This is a safer option in my opinion. Because to me its guaranteed points and at the end of the day, it’s all about generating points no matter who gets them for you as long as you get enough of them the money will be made. This is more the style for the 50/50’s and Multipliers type players out there.
So just from my first time playing the two picking styles I could come up with on such a short notice are the following
- Dive Bombing – Two Studs – Risky Strategy
- Conservative – One Stud – Not As Risky (Better Option For This Gamemode In My Opinion)
How Did My First Night Go Playing Single Game Mode
I took $10 and decided to play a double up payout $20. I ended up coming in like 11th place top 15 go paid. It was a 34 man contest.
Yall know I’m all about the visuals though so won’t nobody on here think I’m just talking. Heres the proof.
So you can see I did, in fact, come in the 11th place like I said. What else did I mention? Oh, yea I was struck by the DFS Grim Reaper and Jokic had 85.65 fantasy points if you have him in the MVP position this night. Here’s your proof for both of those statements as well.
This is my line compared to the man that came in first place. Not saying I would’ve beat him. But a zero from homie can’t help but make me wonder. Yea the payout wouldn’t have changed. But its the principal of the entire thing.
I don’t think he even touched the floor. Given the salary, I had left over and his game log plus minor research due to him not really having much to research. He made the most sense to pick out of the others. But as you can see Reaper had tickets to the game.
How Did My Second Night Go Playing Single Game Mode
Well, this is very good news in my opinion not just because I cashed but more so because its a very promising sign that Fanduel plans on keeping the game mode around for the long haul.
I meant to upload this the night it happened. But a few drinks and some hard partying wouldn’t allow me to. So I figured I would get it up here once I could,
Stephen Curry was a man possessed and was my MVP for this particular slate.
I’m guessing you can see what I said about Curry this night. The dude simply went nuts and was not highly owned in the MVP position. I think guys went heavy on Durant there. When that happens and the rest of your line is pretty much going to produce points regardless unless injury in this game mode you’ve pretty much won for the night.
This is an example of a conservative picking style. Which I was speaking on earlier in the article.
But where there’s DFS there’s always the DFS grim reaper lurking in the shadows. He tried to strike me on this night once again as a matter of fact with my Gaurd pick. But Doc ended up playing the kid thank goodness and didn’t sabotage my night.
Final Ruling On Single Game Mode – Is It Here To Stay
I personally do think its here to stay. There hasn’t been anything written in stone yet. But I don’t see them ditching this one so I feel we can celebrate it. Yes, Fanduel nation we have another great game mode added to the collection. So get in and get your feet wet this year being almost over for the NBA that is. When next season comes around you’ll be ready and well prepared to cash in on some money, money, money, money!
Well, here you have it. This is a rundown that not only newbies and beginners can use. Just make sure its the right contest. For this contest the name will be “Single Game Mode” this will consist of two teams and you pick your 5 players from these teams.
If you have any questions or concerns feel free to ask and share this information with anyone you feel can use it. Later!
