Leagues On Draftkings – How They Work – Review – For Beginners

In this post, we will discuss leagues on draftkings and how it works. Just as we did with Fanduel Leagues. There are a few differences and I will explain each.

Leagues On Draftkings How They Work

Ok Draftkings has a mode on its site called leagues as well. You will find this by logging into your DK account’s homepage. Which should look like this if you’re on a desktop or laptop. If will be a little different if you are viewing from a mobile device like a smartphone in the app version. But you can still follow these steps on this post and be able to use them on your phone. It’s not that hard to transition between the two.

Once you click which sport you want to play and I will select MLB to use as an example. It will bring you to another screen. Which will show you all of the games available for that specific sport. The screen will look like this.

You will need to click this tab I know it says tournaments too. But we are focusing on leagues specifically in this posts. I will get to tournaments in another one.

Once you click the league tab it will show tournaments and leagues mixed together. You will want to scroll until you see the word league or player mentioned in the contest title. If the words league or player aren’t mentioned in the title then you are probably entering a tournament or 50/50. So be sure to read and choose carefully. Because it is real easy to get mixed up and join the wrong game type.

How Much Can You Win

You can play for as little as 0.25 cent or even free games. You also have the choice to play for as much as 30k.

The arrows on the left are the entry fees and the arrows on the right are the prizes. I have the top contest blurred out because it’s a tournament and it’s irrelevant to this post. I have these games sorted from highest to lowest. I did this by going to the upper left corner where it says entry fee. I clicked the tab and a little drop down bar appeared showing all the contests prices. I clicked the one at the bottom. Which is the highest for $1000+ and did the same for the other side. You can also adjust this by simply going over to where it says entry fee in the center of the page. Then click the tab titled entry fee and it will automatically sort the games from low to high or high to low.

These contest have various payout methods. Like where you see the 3-player league game and prizes total 30k. It does not mean each player will get 30k. But the total payout will be 30k to the winner. The other tow players will just have to deal with the reality that they just lost over 10k in a single day. This is like 10 dollars to some of these guys. But it would be devastating to me.

How To Create You Own League Contest

To create a league contest on DK is quite simple and what you will need to do is click the create contest tab. Here’s an image of what it will look like.

Once you click that tab you will be directed to a screen that will look like this.

You will select the size and the fee you wish to set for your contest. The lowest you can go is free and the most is $10,600 as of today. You can have up to 100 people in your league. This is way more than you get to have on FD leagues. You also have the option to make it a 50/50. You don’t have that option on FD. But those are the only differences and the top 5 winner payout option. Other than that you will have to choose from 5-payout options. Those being

  • Winner Take All
  • Top 2 get prizes
  • Top 3 get prizes
  • Top 5 get prizes
  • 50/50 – Not relevant for this post

You have quite a few more options on here with the creation of your league than you do on FD.

What If Your League Doesn’t Fill

It’s simple if it doesn’t fill. You will be refunded the money of the contest or contests. You made that didn’t fill. Be careful on when you make you make the contest. I talk about that a little more on here. Dk Head to Head contest and how it works.

As you can see you have a lot of options to choose from on Dk. When it comes to creating a league. I hope that one day FD will get as versatile with their creation methods as well. But both sites have fairly good creation tools. DK just has more options.

It is not easy winning in leagues. You have to almost have a perfect line-up to cash. You will learn how it goes once you get on there and start playing contests.

I hope you have a better understanding of DK’s league game mode and how it works. I have shown you how to create your very own league as well. But if there is anything I left out or something you want to know more about specifically. As long as it retains to DK’s league game mode. I will be glad to answer your question and I will do so in a timely fashion. I hope that you have created a DK account and an FD account. But if not it’s ok I have links to each site’s sign-up page and you can click each or both. Once you do you will be directed to the site and there you will be able to create your free account.

This is a great post. Since moving recently, I am now able to actually participate in Draft Kings. I wanted to last year during my fantasy football league and now I have the ability to do so. This post walks me through exactly how to do just that so when the time comes for me to get started with Draft Kings, I have a step by step process. I like this post because fantasy sports are a huge deal. Great job.

Great easy to use tutorial on Draft Kings.

Playing fantasy sports can be a little confusing especially for the beginners. It is a little initmidating knowing that some of the people you are up against in the public leagues are well experienced and generally do well.

The thing i like about fantasy sports is you can do research on players based on who they will be playing and their position.

The fact you can create your own leagues is also a great concept because there is nothing better than beating your mates.

    Thanks for the post.
