Leagues or 3-100 Player On Fanduel – How It Works – Review

Today we will discuss leagues or 3-100. They are both the same thing but depending on which device you’re looking at them from it could say either. I will explain what the contests are and how you can create one yourself.

How Do Leagues Work On Fanduel?

Leagues are a type of game mode on FD. With 3-100 players involved. They usually only payout to the top 3 or whoever comes in first place. They are harder to win but their payouts are higher. So with the increase of payouts. It’s only right that the competition level increases as well. When you log in to your homepage it should look like this.

Fanduel Homepage

Ok on this page you can do a few things. First, make sure you have the correct tab selected. It should be either 3-100 player or Leagues. You will then go to the left and set your entry fee and league size how you want it to be. You can also do a number of things on the inner part of this screen. Each tab at the top you can click and it will adjust each contest from high to low or low to high. Same with prizes entries/size and start time.

How Much Can You Win?

It’s up to 50k max and you and do a free game of course for free. The page will look similar to the first image. But in this one, I will be explaining a few of the entry types and payouts.

League Dashboard Entry Selection

As you can see it’s a bunch of games you can choose from. Which have different entry sizes and payouts. Unlike 50/50 games these leagues only pay the top player or players. If you ever want to know how the payout structure works. Just click the prizes tab and it will show you how the money is distributed. It takes some serious skill or luck to win in these consistently.

You will want to click the create contest tab. Once you do you will be directed to a screen that will look like this.

How to Create a league contest

This is the screen you will be placed on after you click the create contest tab. I have pointed out and explained various things on the page. But I forgot to mention that the highest entry fee you can place is $100 and that the most opponents you can have in a created league is 20. So you are limited a little bit. You also have 3 type of payout structures and those are.

  • Winner Takes All
  • Top 3 Get Prizes
  • Top Third Get Prizes

You cannot create some of the games you will see in the league lobby. I have the head to head tab blurred out. Because it’s irrelevant to this post and doesn’t really matter here.

What If Your Contest Doesn’t Fill?

If your contest doesn’t fill your money will be refunded to your account. This will happen for one of two reasons you made a contest that no one or few want to join. Or you made your contest to close to the start time of the desired game you are trying to play. A great example of this is let’s say you set up a contest for a set of games that start at 8:00pm. But you create the contest at 7:57pm. This does not give your opponent enough time to join your game and no one is really looking to join a contest this close to game time. So it’s best to make your games at least an hour or two before the game is scheduled to begin.

Conclusion

This is how you join and create a league. I hope you have an understanding of how it works now that you have read this post. I think I touched on all major parts of the topic. But if I left something out or you wish to know a little more about something in particular about leagues. Comment and let me know. I will respond as soon as I can. Leagues are one of the more difficult game modes to win on either Fanduel or Draftkings. Simply because the prize margins are so much smaller. But it can be a fun and addicting game mode at the same time. Especially if you get on a streak.

I will say that it’s one of the game modes that will have you to use some sailor language. It has made me do this and some plenty of times. It’s ok most fantasy players will have these moments. It will happen trust me. In order to win these contest you will usually have to be as contrarian as possible. The more awkward or different your line up looks compared to the rest of the lobby is better for you. In other words the lower ownership on your players. The easier it will be to climb the board and end up in that top 3 or in 1st. But don’t just pick players that you know nobody will have. Cause that could result in some big fat 0’s on your player list. Zeros are your worst enemies in DFS. But pick players that are going to give you a decent amount of points and you will do fine. I will touch on this a little more in another post.

If you haven’t made you an account on Fanduel or Draftkings yet you can do so below. Just click the images of each or which one you wish to join and you will be directed to the sign-up screen for either sites.

    Hello,
I just reviewed a DraftKings article. I am personally a big fan of Fanduel. I believe it runs smoother than DraftKings. I have participated in leagues before, however I like the smaller leagues better than the bigger one. I know smaller leagues payout less. What do you think about playing in Multilpliers? This is where I have had the greatest success. I am a fan of betting less and having a chance to win 5-10 times the money. This is another great review and now I can’t wait for football to start. Good luck with everything.

Mutilpliers are good as well. Whatever you win in the most. Stick with that for sure

Great Post! I enjoyed reading your review on FD! Your review was extremely entertaining and very well-written; containing little to no grammatical errors. I learned a great deal about FD and I think I’m going to try it out in order to see how fun it is for myself! Thanks for a great read!

I can hold my own on Draft Kings, but I have not heard of or tried Fan Duel. I don’t know that I want to switch if the payout is only for the top 3 spots. With Draft Kings, it is a little bit easier to win and I like that. Makes me feel like I am actually doing halfway decent. I don’t think I have ever gotten into the top three, so I would find myself feeling very discouraged, LOL

The payout methods are pretty much the same for each site. Only difference is the name and the way it looks
